Wet Palette for (poor) Dummies!

So I was starting to write an email to fellow Infinity-player Martin (who play Ariadna) about how I made a simple wet palette on the cheap. But as I was writing it occured to me that I might as well turn it into a quick blog post. So here we go: how to make a wet palette from an Infinity blister (or Spartan Games blister or any other that use the clamshell construction):

1. Buy some Infinity stuff! This is the easisest step... resistance is futile.  

2. The little metal pieces you find inside? Well, all we want is the blister so toss them in the bin! 

3. Which leaves us with this. She's a beauty isn't she?

4. Cut it in two pieces at the bend. 

5. Get some tissue paper and some baking/waxed/parchment paper and cut it into pieces roughly the same size as the blister. 

6. Soak the tissue paper in water (don't just wet it, soak it!) and place it within the 'lip' of the blister back part.

7. Then just place a piece of baking and... ta-daaa! Done! Now get painting!

8. When you're done for the day (with your 15 minutes perhaps?) just use the top/front half of the blister and snap it into place. That way the colours that are still on the palette will stay fresh until the next day.

There we go. Cheap and easy, don't you think? There are definitely larger, better and more expensive alternatives out there, but this'll get you by in a pinch. Just remember to re-soak the tissue paper and replace the baking paper as it slowly gets covered.
