A small update

So a couple of weeks ago Spartan Games sent out their newsletter revealing an upcoming fleet of marauders. It's definitely the best looking fleet they've made so far so I decided to not get the Relthoza which I had planned on at first, and wait for the marauders.

The upcoming Marauder fleet. For more info and pictures head over here!

But... then I recieved a 18% off coupon at Maelstrom Games (who also provide free shipping worldwide!) and I just couldn't help myself!

I got the starter fleet (comprised of six frigates, three cruisers and a battleship), a carrier, six escorts and two more regular and one heavy cruiser. I have yet to put them together, but they look really good! Barely any flash and nice crisp details. So although I'm still working on my Yamato fleet it's always nice to have a second fleet that is "official".

Speaking of Yamato. I've basecoated and inked the first three test ships as well as finishing the magnet installation. Works great! Currently they look like this:

Sorry for the yellowish colour. Bad camera and bad lighting...

So that's a quick little update on the proceedings of my Firestorm: Armada projects.

Tomorrow it's time for our third (or second, depending how you count) session of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. After having fought off some nasty beastmen and being welcomed back as heroes at the local inn our intrepid heroes are living the good life... for a day or two...

  1. Thank you for all this information! You've given me the inspiration to make my own Yamato/Star Blazer's fleet for FSA. I'm about halfway finished collecting the necessary ships for a beginner fleet, with the remaining model kits on their way from Japan now. Couldn't have done it without your blog.

  2. Wow! That's great! This is really what I like to hear best from my dear readers; that something I've written has helped someone in some way or another (inspiration in your case I suppose). :)

While my own Yamato project is very much on the backburner at the moment, I /will/ finish it in the future! They are some of the best starship designs out there I think.

I would love to see the results of your efforts! A link or an email with some pics would be great. Hehe!

    Good luck!
